Hi Friends,
I've been preparing for CCNA for a while and not getting enough confidence in able to take the exam. I went through Cisco Press books and find it hard to remember anything.

Are there any simulators that I can use and what other books do you recommend?

Please help

Regards

i think if u are new in networking , u will have to spend more time reading and reading a lot .  as for my preparation for ccna , am using cisco press . and i find it rather easy ( am still in the intro exam chapter 7 ) and i think that is because i have some experience cause of my previous studies for mcsa exams .   what i want to say is that if it's ur first time to be dealing with networking , u need more time to assimilate the materials . just read and read and read ......

                good luck

Buddy, use the Sybex CCNA 5th Edition, itīs much better than the Cisco material, you can find it on: www.net130.com

Also, go to Sybex web site (www.sybex.com) and find the CCNA 5th Edition, to download 2 extra chapters (NAT and OSPF DR/BDR election) because itīs not on the book, you just go there and download, no login/password required.

Also, you can download the Boson Netsim from the www.net130.com website I gave to you, the activation code is inside the .rar archive.

Download the latest Testking from this site also, and study the question! Carrefull! Because some questions are with the wrong answer! Just let me know if I can do anything else!

Good lucky!

You can use the Sybex edition and follow the examples on the book using the RouterSim Simulator. Its a very user friendly simulator and will have most of the commands that are mentioned on sybex.

Cheers and goodluck!

I suggest you to buy a used router 1700/1720 and a 2915 switch if you want realy to do practical!!The boson simulator is not a very good product, it has some bugs!! You can find used routers on ebay!!
