you are presented with five switches and two routers and out of these you are only consoloed to only one switch which is also attached to the default gateway-router the you are told of another switch which has some vlans and a given domain name and out of that scenario you are requiresd to identify what will happen if the new switch is to be joined to the network and also you are  asked question concerning ip address and mac-address relationship and also questions on intervlan-routing and also default-gateways. but to be prepared know the output you get from varoius commands used to manage the switches

It's all a bunch of show commands to answer the questions.. Here are the ones I can remember..

show mac-address-table
show run
show cdp neighbor detail
show cdp neighbor
show interfaces trunk

My one I got lots of questions regarding Switches.

For example, one question, they had three Switches each one with one different VLAN configured, all of then connected by trunks using 802.1q, and all of then trunks between the switches were fine (according to the question). So, why doesnŽt the vlans talk to each other? The answer was that the cable that connects the router to the switch-fabric was damaged. The router does the routing between VLANs, and that was the problem to that question.

IŽve also got a LAB, with a router acting as a default-gateway, and two switches, like this:

Router---------Switch1---------Switch2

This was asking to configure the Switch2, in the same VTP domain/password as Switch1, use the same default-gateway as Switch1 and to use the next available IP according to Switch1 IP/Netmask. Easy task, just gave show running on switch one, and "all" the commands were there! IŽve only calculated the IP Address to be sure about it. Easy task.

Also, Testking has lots of questions, many with wrong answers, but they are the exam questions, study those questions, your material (IŽd preffer Sybex over Cisco, Sybex is much better), and youŽll made! IŽd score 987 without any problems.

I agreed with jrmstr33 and you might use "show span" for display spaningtree information.
