What's your opinion of this dvd writer? I'm thinking whether I should buy this one or go for the lg 4167. Any suggestions?

U better prefer Nec as LG shows a lot of small compatibility issues these days

I m using 4551 for 4 months. Its good so far. IMHO, you should go for 4551 instead of 4167 since 4551 is having faster transfer rate.

This is a good burner.  I also have Benq 1640 which is just as good as well.
