Still Take MCSA/MCSE 2000?

I am in the process of Certifying for Microsoft and already I have passed 70-270 in my road to MCSA. But I was thinking. Should I go take MCSA 2000 than upgrade it to 2003? Or just go on ahead and just take windows 2003...

thoughts on this are welcome.

take 2003 there's not much difference when you need to study them.
When you take 2000 in no time MS will discontinue your MCSA.

And bussiness isn't asking for 2000 anymore

I am doing the MCSA/MCSE Windows 2000 route. Several people have given me their old books, disks, and sims to study for the exams. Then I'll just have to do 2 more for the upgrade. It saveds me money. That's just me.

I think you should take 2003. why take extra tests?

I said, that is just me. I'm doing the 2000 track. I LIKE 2000, have used it for bleems, and want to do the certs for it. When I get finished doing all I want to in the 2000 track, then I will either do the two upgrades, or even start all over. It is my time, my money, and it is what I like to do.

Yes I would do 2000 and then upgrade.  Alot of companies are still running 2000 and beyond EOL

Don't even bother to take 2000, go with 2003 and then you will soon be ready for the next version vista server

if u aint got any 2000 exams then go straight for 2003, the upgrade 2000->2003 exam is a nightmare

My thinking is to take the MCSE (not the MCSA) 2000 exams.  There are still many server 2000 systems out there and you should be able to work with them.  You are probably already familiar with Server 2000 and its easy to get cheap study guides and practice exams.  You can learn the material on your own if you have 3 computers you can set up at home for a learning lab network.  Then, if you can afford it, get classroom training for the two MCSE 2000 to 2003 exams.  If you don't have the money, you can still learn it on your own but it is much more difficult.  At the very least, see if you can purchase the official MS curriculum for those two classes.

I was in the same spot as you when NT was moving out and 2000 was coming in....I ended up finishing my NT, but if I was going to do it again I would just have started on 2000 instead of wasting the time and money on the NT stuff.
